Review Says Speed Zones Have Not
Prevented Manatee Boat Mortality

On behalf of client Citizens For Florida's Waterways, MW Consulting conducted a review of manatee mortality, comparing counties with speed zones and/or Manatee Protection Plans, and those without. The surprising results, which have ignited a long-overdue discussion on the effectiveness of manatee speed zones, are available here.

The findings were presented at the 2012 Stem to Stern boating conference in Clearwater.
